Pre-Close Trading Update
Cambridge, UK: Abcam plc (AIM: ABC), the rapidly growing bioscience company that markets antibodies via its own online
catalogue, is pleased to announce a pre-close trading update ahead of its results for the six months ending 31 December
2009.  
Trading since the Company's statement to the Annual General Meeting at the beginning of November has been very good, and
brings to a close what is expected to be a successful first six months of the financial year across the business. Results
have been particularly boosted by favourable exchange rates compared with last year.
Although recent levels of trading may be attributable in part to scientists utilising budgets before the end of December,
the Board has made an upwards revision of its expectations for the full year. These revised expectations are subject to the
continued resilience of our markets to any downturn in scientific research budgets as a consequence of the global recession
and assumptions of future exchange rates.
The Company will report its interim results for the six months ending 31 December 2009 in the week commencing 8 March 2010.
